Prayer isn’t just a spiritual add-on to keep your team grounded—it is the central organizing principle of the local church. True leadership means constantly wrestling with whether you are chasing your own vision or aligning with God’s.
- Fuse Evangelism with Intercession
Many leaders act as if they have to choose between being an attractional, seeker-focused church or a presence-centered, prayer-heavy ministry. The reality? They belong together. Reaching people far from God and establishing robust environments for prayer are not mutually exclusive; they actually fuel one another.
- Lead Change Through Continuity, Not Erasure
One of the fastest ways to alienate your congregation during a season of transition is to bash the past. Honor what got you to this point. Frame the new direction not as a brand-new book, but as a continuation of the beautiful story God has been writing through former generations.
- “Slow is Smooth, and Smooth is Fast”
In leadership, moving too fast often slows you down on the backend. If you don’t take the necessary time to explain the “why” behind a pivot, you will spend twice as much time doing damage control and building buy-in after the fact. Work outward from your core leadership to the crowd, remembering that internal buy-in requires deliberate pacing.

Transitioning to a massive platform often brings an unexpected wave of isolation. When everyone wants something from you, discerning true friendship becomes difficult. To protect your spiritual health, find circles outside of your immediate staff—such as business owners or marketplace leaders—who instinctively understand the unique, crushing weight of high-level organizational pressure.
